On Thursday, March 16, 2017, Sherman Dugas, an Exo Group partner, presented at the Louisiana Small Farmer Conference. This conference, held annually, is purposed to help small family farms through business management skills and leadership development. In its seventh iteration, and with a theme of “Innovation and Resilience for Louisiana’s Family Farms”, Sherman spoke for over an hour on Value Added Marketing. Excerpts from the presentation will be distilled and shared on this blog at a later date, but for now, we’re happy to share our excitement at the positive response we received.
The Louisiana Small Farmer Conference is held at the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center and is the culmination of a two-year course of development at the Small Farmer Agricultural Leadership Institute. The conference includes topics on a variety of subjects, featuring demonstrations on drones, an address on climate change from WAFB’s Jay Grymes, along with an address from the LA Department of Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner.
